Difference between Zhineng Qigong Science and Hunyuan Qi Therapy

Zhineng Qigong Science (ZNQS) and Hunyuan Qi Therapy (HYQT) is the foundation of all our Life Changer programs, workshops, practice sessions and education to become a Health & Well-Being Coach based on Qi therapy. Both terms are usually mentioned in one breath but one question that you might ask yourself is: Is there a difference between the two?

What is Zhineng Qigong Science?

Zhi can be translated as intelligence or wisdom, and is a literal translation for “knowing the source”. Neng translates to ability which refers to mental and physical abilities for healing processes. Coming to the second part of Zhineng Qigong, Qi in general means life force but for Zhineng Qigong Science Qi refers to the source of life energy (Nature or one’s own human life Qi) and how it can be transformed on an information, energy and physical matter substance level. Gong means theories, methods, knowledge, work, or more in depth “skill cultivated through steady practice.”

Prof. Dr. Pang Ming is the founder of Zhineng Qigong Science and intended to create a form of Qigong that benefits everyone in a fast and efficient way. When practicing Zhineng Qigong, you are equipped with tools to improve health and well-being on a mental, emotional and physical level, and reach your full human potential. Through regular practice, you can even develop paranormal intelligence.

Practising Zhineng Qigong will activate Qi (life force) in your whole body. Qi which is also information and a form of energy, runs through our body channels (called meridians). According to traditional Chinese medicine, these meridians, a system of energy channels, exist parallel to our blood, nervous and lymphatic systems. Qi runs through the meridians and the flow of Qi can be blocked by stress or illnesses. A good metaphor is a river path which is blocked by a fallen tree. The water cannot move smoothly anymore. Imagine that your blood and Qi are the water which needs to flow through the body for it to function fully and be healthy and the tree trunk symbolizes stress and illnesses. Practising Zhineng Qigong supports the removal of these blockages, allowing Qi to flow freely again. You feel rejuvenated and full of life. It’s no wonder Zhineng Qigong is the world’s most widely practised form of Qigong with over 20 million global practitioners.

Prof. Dr. Pang Ming on “Why can Qigong cure illness?”

“Qigong doesn’t focus on the cause of the disease, but rather on restoring the person to total physiological balance. If the Qi is unimpeded, body processes will normalize, and the illness will naturally disappear. For example, people have unhealthy bacteria in their body but don’t get sick. Why? Because their bodily functions and immune systems are strong. They resist the illness. But Qigong does not rely on resisting diseases. It eliminates the source of the disease altogether, rather than leaving it latent in the body. In experiments, we see that a person’s Qi can kill bacteria outside of himself. Practicing Qigong will certainly kill bacteria within.”

What is Hunyuan Qi Therapy?

Let’s also take the name apart first. In the science of Zhineng Qigong, the specific term Hunyuan means: United, integrated & transformed into one entity – emphasis on the process of merging and transforming. Hunyuan Qi is formed by the unification of the three substances: Physical matter, Qi and information. All material has Hunyuan Qi within and around it. The Hunyuan Qi around a physical entity is called the Qi field. The larger or denser the volume of material, the bigger and more concentrated the Hunyuan Qi field will be. The Qi field is an integral part in HYQT.

Applying Hunyuan Qi Therapy consists of 2 parts. On the one hand, external treatments can be given by the therapist who creates a powerful Qi field and sends positive information – either to oneself or to another person. On the other hand, the trained Qi therapist shares and facilitates selected, effective Zhineng Qigong methods and meditations to promote mental strength, physical fitness, emotional balance and activation of one’s own self-healing abilities. You can easily practice these independently in everyday life. Practical exercises provided follow the movements of nature: opening and absorbing, collecting and letting go, integrating and transforming. When your own ‘battery’ is empty, it’s harder to follow these natural principles. However, if you integrate these exercises into your life, you will experience more vitality and higher energy levels and be more inspired to make positive decisions, find new ways of living and strengthen your own stamina in difficult situations.

How a Hunyuan Qi Therapy (HYQT) session looks like

An empowering HYQT session includes a conversation about your intention and what issues you would like to resolve. The atmosphere of a session is very relaxed, open and natural, as this is the best environment for the healing Qi and information to create an effect. The Hunyuan Qi Therapist will work with you on these four levels to help you reach your healing intention:

  • Strengthening the functions of your body Qi field
  • Strengthening the functions of your membrane system
  • Restoring and strengthening the functions of the Qi and blood-exchange pathways
  • Changing and transforming negative emotional states, limiting thought processes and behavioural patterns to evolve into building up a strong inner state of positive polarity, joy, harmony, balance and upright thoughts and emotions

HYQT involves healing the body’s membrane function and strengthening the membrane system. Improving the membrane system will improve health naturally, as all organs, cells, bones, etc. are connected by the membrane system. The membrane system functions as a pathway through which materials for survival are transported, and is also considered a “Qi-exchange pathway”.

HYQT sessions can help you heal more effectively. They can also improve the efficacy of medication and other medical treatments such as surgery. After the therapy session, most people report positive sensations such as feeling light, peaceful, relaxed and happy. Often symptoms are relieved straight away. Your Hunyuan Qi Therapist will also advise you on specific Zhineng Qigong methods and exercises to practice at home to progress more effectively. Hunyuan Qi Therapy, combined with your own Zhineng Qigong practice, will accelerate your progress and can also help with conditions where the support of Western medicine has been limited.

Prof. Dr. Pang Ming on “Master the laws of life”:

“We emphasize movement as a basis of cultivation … Concentrate your consciousness, that’s good enough. Focus on your feeling, awareness, consciousness, and spirit; eliminate the confused, fuzzy, weak, or negative. The result is you become a master of your own life, not a slave of the material world.”

Conclusion

Concluding, Hunyuan Qi Therapy is not different from Zhineng Qigong Science but builds on it. Zhineng Qigong Science is the foundation for the theory, methods and exercises used for Hunyuan Qi Therapy – without Zhineng Qigong Science, Hunyuan Qi Therapy would not exist. In Hunyuan Qi Therapy you receive strong support from Qi therapists in a powerful Qi field which will accelerate the self-healing process and reinforce your own Zhineng Qigong practice. The beauty is that literally everyone can do the practice and be in a treatment session, no matter which age or health status. You can e.g. practice sitting down and using your consciousness to ignite the Qi flow and your intentions to manifest. Keep in mind that you are the one determining the manifestation and cultivation of your own life intentions 😊
